Developing and pursuing strategy
in the language of needs, obstacles, and outcomes

The drivers for organisational change are familiar enough:

  • Dynamism – levels of innovation, adaptability, and responsiveness that your customers will love
  • Creativity – the working experience characterised by collaboration, sharing, and learning
  • Wholeheartedness – an energising clarity of purpose seen at every level of organisation

But just as familiar are these change-related obstacles:

  1. Cynicism and disengagement – increasing with every failed attempt at change
  2. Same old, same old – untamed forces driving the same old results
  3. Innovation stifled – your innovators made irrelevant by decisions already made

Fail to deal with these in the right way and you risk becoming part of the problem. But a traditional, project-style change management approach won’t help – probably it’s what got you here in the first place.
